¹² And further, my son, be admonished by these. Of making many books there is no end, and ^(A)much study is wearisome to the flesh.

^25 (A)And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, ^(B)I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen.

^19 [a]And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a ^(A)light that shines in a dark place, ^(B)until ^(C)the day dawns and the morning star rises in your ^(D)hearts; ²⁰ knowing this first, that ^(E)no prophecy of Scripture is of any private ^[b]interpretation, ²¹ for ^(F)prophecy never came by the will of man, ^(G)but ^[c]holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

^39 (A)You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and ^(B)these are they which testify of Me.

^31 (A)but these are written that ^(B)you may believe that Jesus ^(C)is the Christ, the Son of God, ^(D)and that believing you may have life in His name.

²⁹ Abraham said to him, ^(A)‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ ³⁰ And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.’ ³¹ But he said to him, ^(B)‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, ^(C)neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ”
