⁵ Then Paul said, ^(A)“I did not know, brethren, that he was the high priest; for it is written, ^(B)‘You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.’ ”

^2 (A)For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known. ³ Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

^28 (A)“You shall not revile God, nor curse a ^(B)ruler of your people.

¹² And one of his servants said, “None, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”

⁴⁰ But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, ^(A)the stones would immediately cry out.”

²¹ They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and ^(A)curse ^[a]their king and their God, and look upward.

⁴⁰ But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.”
