¹² For wisdom is ^[a]a ^(A)defense as money is a defense,
But the ^[b]excellence of knowledge is that wisdom gives ^(B)life to those who have it.

⁴ Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
^(A)The crooked places shall be made ^[a]straight
And the rough places smooth;

²⁹ When He gives quietness, who then can make trouble?
And when He hides His face, who then can see Him,
Whether it is against a nation or a man alone?—

⁶ That He would show you the secrets of wisdom!
For they would double your prudence.
Know therefore that ^(A)God ^[a]exacts from you
Less than your iniquity deserves.

^35 (A)All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing;
^(B)He does according to His will in the army of heaven
And among the inhabitants of the earth.
^(C)No one can restrain His hand
Or say to Him, ^(D)“What have You done?”
