³⁰ “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent!^(A) Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.^{(B) 31} Rid^(C) yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart^(D) and a new spirit. Why^(E) will you die, people of Israel?^(F)

³¹ Then you will remember your evil ways and wicked deeds, and you will loathe yourselves for your sins and detestable practices.^(A)

²² Then you will desecrate your idols^(A) overlaid with silver and your images covered with gold;^(B) you will throw them away like a menstrual^(C) cloth and say to them, “Away with you!^(D)”

Rend Your Heart

¹¹ See what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what concern,^(A) what readiness to see justice done. At every point you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.
