¹⁰ Then Moses commanded them: “At the end of every seven years, in the year for canceling debts,^(A) during the Festival of Tabernacles,^{(B) 11} when all Israel comes to appear^(C) before the Lord your God at the place he will choose,^(D) you shall read this law^(E) before them in their hearing.

³ He said to the Levites, who instructed^(A) all Israel and who had been consecrated to the Lord: “Put the sacred ark in the temple that Solomon son of David king of Israel built. It is not to be carried about on your shoulders. Now serve the Lord your God and his people Israel.

⁶ Slaughter the Passover lambs, consecrate yourselves^(A) and prepare the lambs for your fellow Israelites, doing what the Lord commanded through Moses.”

⁷ The Levites^(A)—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah—instructed^(B) the people in the Law while the people were standing there. ⁸ They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear^[a] and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read.
