Nádej pre kazdého
Modlite sa za nás
3 Napokon, bratia, prosíme, modlite sa za nás, aby sa Božie posolstvo rýchlo šírilo a víťazilo všade ako u vás
2 a aby sme boli oslobodení od zvrátených a zlých ľudí, lebo nie všetci sú ochotní veriť.
3 Ale Pán je verný. On vás posilní a ochráni od zlého.
4 Spoliehame sa na Pána, že konáte a budete konať, čo vám prikazujeme.
5 Nech Pán dá, aby ste čoraz hlbšie chápali Božiu lásku a trpezlivosť, ktorá pramení z Krista.
Kto nepracuje, nech ani neje
6 Ďalej vám prikazujeme, milí bratia, v mene Pána Ježiša Krista, aby ste sa vyhýbali tým, ktorí si neberú k srdcu naše napomenutia a vedú záhaľčivý život.
7 Dali sme vám predsa sami príklad, ako máte žiť:
8 nikdy ste nás nevideli zaháľať a priživovať sa na iných. Vo dne v noci sme si tvrdou prácou zarábali na chlieb, aby sme nikomu neboli na ťarchu.
9 Nie že by sme na to nemali právo, ale chceli sme vám dať príklad.
10 A takisto sme vám vždy zdôrazňovali: kto nechce pracovať, nech ani neje!
11 A predsa teraz počúvame, že sa niektorí medzi vami oddávajú nečinnosti a namiesto poctivej práce sa miešajú do vecí, do ktorých ich nič nie je.
12 Takých napomíname a v mene Pána Ježiša Krista im nariaďujeme, aby žili slušne a zarábali si na živobytie vlastnou prácou.
13 A vám, bratia, pripomíname -- v konaní dobra neochabujte!
14 Keby niekto odmietal podriadiť sa tomu, čo tu píšeme, dajte mu pocítiť, že medzi vás nepatrí. Možno sa potom zahanbí.
15 Ale nesprávajte sa k nemu ako k nepriateľovi, skôr ho napomínajte ako brata, na ktorom vám záleží.
Záverečné pozdravy
16 Nech Pán, ktorý je zdrojom pokoja, dá vám svoj pokoj za každých okolností a nech zostáva s vami.
17 Tento pozdrav píšem vo všetkých listoch vlastnou rukou na dôkaz, že sú naozaj odo mňa.
Milosť Pána Ježiša Krista nech vás sprevádza.

Request for Prayer
3 As for other matters, brothers and sisters,(A) pray for us(B) that the message of the Lord(C) may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.(D) 2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people,(E) for not everyone has faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful,(F) and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.(G) 4 We have confidence(H) in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts(I) into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
Warning Against Idleness
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ,(J) we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from(K) every believer who is idle and disruptive(L) and does not live according to the teaching[a] you received from us.(M) 7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example.(N) We were not idle when we were with you, 8 nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked(O) night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help,(P) but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate.(Q) 10 For even when we were with you,(R) we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work(S) shall not eat.”
11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.(T) 12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ(U) to settle down and earn the food they eat.(V) 13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.(W)
14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them,(X) in order that they may feel ashamed.(Y) 15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.(Z)
Final Greetings
16 Now may the Lord of peace(AA) himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.(AB)
17 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand,(AC) which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.(AD)

3 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.
5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
17 The salutation of Paul with mine own hand, which is the token in every epistle: so I write.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
