6 Vid denna tid fanns det inte någon kung i Israel, utan var och en gjorde vad han själv fann för gott.
7 I Betlehem i Juda bodde en ung man av Juda släkt. Han var levit och bodde där en tid. 8 Han gav sig av från Betlehem i Juda till trakten av Efraims bergsbygd. Han letade efter en plats där han kunde bo och på sin väg kom han till Mikas hus.

6 In those days (A)there was no king in Israel; (B)every man did what was right in his own eyes.
7 Now there was a young man from (C)Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he was [a]staying there. 8 Then the man departed from the city, from Bethlehem in Judah, to [b]stay wherever he might find a place; and as he made his journey, he came to the (D)hill country of Ephraim to the house of Micah.

6 In those days Israel had no king;(A) everyone did as they saw fit.(B)
7 A young Levite(C) from Bethlehem in Judah,(D) who had been living within the clan of Judah, 8 left that town in search of some other place to stay. On his way[a] he came to Micah’s house in the hill country of Ephraim.
