⁹ And ^(A)you shall come to the priests, the Levites, and ^(B)to the judge there in those days, and inquire of them; ^(C)they shall pronounce upon you the sentence of judgment. ¹⁰ You shall do according to the sentence which they pronounce upon you in that place which the Lord chooses. And you shall be careful to do according to all that they order you. ¹¹ According to the sentence of the law in which they instruct you, according to the judgment which they tell you, you shall do; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left from the sentence which they pronounce upon you. ¹² Now ^(D)the man who acts presumptuously and will not heed the priest who stands to minister there before the Lord your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall put away the evil from Israel.

¹⁶ Take heed to yourselves, ^(A)lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and ^(B)serve other gods and worship them,

¹⁸ “Therefore ^(A)you shall ^[a]lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your ^(B)soul, and ^(C)bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. ^19 (D)You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

³² And you shall be careful to observe all the statutes and judgments which I set before you today.

⁶ Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as ^(A)they also lusted. ^7 (B)And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, ^(C)“The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.” ^8 (D)Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as ^(E)some of them did, and ^(F)in one day twenty-three thousand fell; ⁹ nor let us ^[a]tempt Christ, as ^(G)some of them also tempted, and ^(H)were destroyed by serpents; ¹⁰ nor complain, as ^(I)some of them also complained, and ^(J)were destroyed by ^(K)the destroyer. ¹¹ Now ^[b]all these things happened to them as examples, and ^(L)they were written for our ^[c]admonition, ^(M)upon whom the ends of the ages have come.
