³ Therefore understand today that the Lord your God is He who ^(A)goes over before you as a ^(B)consuming fire. ^(C)He will destroy them and bring them down before you; ^(D)so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the Lord has said to you.

²⁴ For ^(A)the Lord your God is a consuming fire, ^(B)a jealous God.

²⁹ For ^(A)our God is a consuming fire.

God’s Everlasting Love

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? ^(A)If God is for us, who can be against us?

⁴ for the Lord your God is He who goes with you, ^(A)to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.’

²³ But the Lord your God will deliver them over to you, and will inflict defeat upon them until they are destroyed. ²⁴ And ^(A)He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you will destroy their name from under heaven; ^(B)no one shall be able to stand ^[a]against you until you have destroyed them.

¹¹ Behold, the ark of the covenant of ^(A)the Lord of all the earth is crossing over before you into the Jordan.

^29 (A)I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. ³⁰ Little by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and you inherit the land. ³¹ And ^(B)I will set your ^[a]bounds from the Red Sea to the sea, Philistia, and from the desert to the ^[b]River. For I will ^(C)deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you shall drive them out before you.
