17 Otherwise, you might say in your heart,(A) “It is my own power and the strength of my own hand that has got me this wealth.” 18 Remember then the Lord, your God, for he is the one who gives you the power to get wealth, by fulfilling, as he has now done, the covenant he swore to your ancestors.

17 Do not say to yourself, “My power and the might of my own hand have gotten me this wealth.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, so that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your ancestors, as he is doing today.

17 So then, you must never think that you have made yourselves wealthy by your own power and strength. 18 Remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the power to become rich. He does this because he is still faithful today to the covenant that he made with your ancestors.

17 You may say to yourself,(A) “My power and the strength of my hands(B) have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth,(C) and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
