⁴ Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.^{[a](A) 5} Love^(B) the Lord your God with all your heart^(C) and with all your soul and with all your strength.^{(D) 6} These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.^{(E) 7} Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.^{(F) 8} Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.^{(G) 9} Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.^(H)

¹⁰ When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build,^{(I) 11} houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig,^(J) and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,^{(K) 12} be careful that you do not forget^(L) the Lord, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord. He sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said:

Jesus Heals a Demon-Possessed Boy^(A)

¹⁴ When they came to the crowd, a man approached Jesus and knelt before him. ¹⁵ “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures^(B) and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. ¹⁶ I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.”

¹⁷ “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.” ¹⁸ Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of the boy, and he was healed at that moment.

¹⁹ Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?”

²⁰ He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith^(C) as small as a mustard seed,^(D) you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.^(E) Nothing will be impossible for you.”
