⁹^(A)“Only take care, and ^(B)keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. ^(C)Make them known to your children and your children's children— ¹⁰how on ^(D)the day that you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord said to me, ^(E)‘Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, ^(F)so that they may learn to fear ^(G)me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.’

Psalm 78:2-7

²^(A)I will open my mouth ^(B)in a parable;
    I will utter dark sayings from of old,
³things that we have heard and known,
    that our ^(C)fathers have told us.
⁴We will not ^(D)hide them from their children,
    but ^(E)tell to the coming generation
the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might,
    and ^(F)the wonders that he has done.

⁵He established ^(G)a testimony in ^(H)Jacob
    and appointed a law in ^(I)Israel,
which he commanded our fathers
    to teach to their children,
⁶that ^(J)the next generation might know them,
    the children yet unborn,
and arise and tell them to their children,
⁷    so that they should set their hope in God
and not forget ^(K)the works of God,
    but ^(L)keep his commandments;
