³⁷ Because He loved^(A) your fathers, He chose their descendants after them and brought you out of Egypt by His presence and great power,

⁴ “Listen, Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One.^{[a](A) 5} Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.^{(B) 6} These words that I am giving you today are to be in your heart.^(C)

Remember and Obey

11 “Therefore, love the Lord your God and always keep His mandate and His statutes, ordinances, and commands.

⁶ The Lord your God will circumcise your heart^(A) and the hearts of your descendants, and you will love Him with all your heart and all your soul so that you will live.

¹⁶ For^[a] I am commanding you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commands, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live^[b] and multiply, and the Lord your God may bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

²⁰ love the Lord your God, obey Him, and remain faithful^[a] to Him. For He is your life, and He will prolong your life in the land the Lord swore to give to your fathers^(A) Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.”
