²⁸ There you will worship man-made gods of wood and stone, which cannot see, hear, eat, or smell.

¹⁸ They have thrown their gods into the fire, for they were not gods but made by human hands—wood and stone.^(A) So they have destroyed them.

²⁰ The rest of the people, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands^(A) to stop worshiping demons^(B) and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood,^(C) which cannot see, hear, or walk.^(D)
