The Death of Moses

34 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab ^(A)to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho. And the Lord showed him all the land, Gilead as far as Dan, ²all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah ^(B)as far as the western sea, ³^(C)the Negeb, and ^(D)the Plain, that is, the Valley of Jericho ^(E)the city of palm trees, as far as ^(F)Zoar. ⁴And the Lord said to him, ^(G)“This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, ‘I will give it to your offspring.’ ^(H)I have let you see it with your eyes, but ^(I)you shall not go over there.” ⁵So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord, ⁶and he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth-peor; but ^(J)no one knows the place of his burial to this day. ⁷^(K)Moses was 120 years old when he died. ^(L)His eye was undimmed, and his vigor unabated. ⁸And the people of Israel ^(M)wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. Then the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

⁹And Joshua the son of Nun was full of ^(N)the spirit of wisdom, for ^(O)Moses had laid his hands on him. So ^(P)the people of Israel obeyed him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses. ¹⁰And there has not ^(Q)arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, ^(R)whom the Lord knew face to face, ¹¹none like him for all ^(S)the signs and the wonders that the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land, ¹²and for all the mighty power and all the great deeds of terror that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.

34 Từ đồng bằng Mô-áp, Môi-se lên đỉnh Phích-ga của núi Nê-bô, đối diện Giê-ri-cô. Tại đó, CHÚA chỉ cho ông xem toàn xứ, từ Ga-la-át cho đến Đan, ²toàn xứ Nép-ta-li, lãnh thổ của Ép-ra-im và Ma-na-se, toàn lãnh thổ của Giu-đa cho đến tận biển Tây,^[a] ³vùng Nê-ghép^[b] và toàn thể vùng đồng bằng từ thung lũng Giê-ri-cô là thành Chà-là, cho đến tận Xoa. ⁴CHÚA phán với ông: “Đây là xứ Ta đã thề hứa với Áp-ra-ham, Y-sác và Gia-cốp khi Ta bảo họ: ‘Ta sẽ ban xứ này cho con cháu ngươi.’ Ta cho con xem thấy tận mắt, nhưng con sẽ không được vào đó.”

⁵Vậy, Môi-se tôi tớ CHÚA qua đời trong đất Mô-áp, như CHÚA đã phán. ⁶Ngài chôn ông tại thung lũng đối diện Bết Phê-ô, trong xứ Mô-áp, nhưng mãi đến nay không ai biết mộ của ông đâu cả. ⁷Môi-se qua đời lúc ông được một trăm hai mươi tuổi, nhưng mắt ông không làn, sức ông không giảm. ⁸Dân Y-sơ-ra-ên thương khóc ông trong đồng bằng Mô-áp suốt ba mươi ngày, là thời kỳ thương khóc và chịu tang Môi-se.

⁹Giô-suê con trai của Nun được đầy dẫy thần trí khôn ngoan, vì Môi-se có đặt tay trên ông. Như vậy toàn dân Y-sơ-ra-ên vâng phục Giô-suê và làm theo điều CHÚA đã truyền dạy Môi-se.

¹⁰Về sau, trong dân Y-sơ-ra-ên không có tiên tri nào như Môi-se, là người được CHÚA biết mặt đối mặt, ¹¹Ngoài Môi-se ra không có tiên tri nào được CHÚA sai thực hiện những dấu kỳ, phép lạ như vậy trong xứ Ai-cập, trước mặt vua, tất cả quần thần và toàn dân Ai-cập. ¹²Không một ai bày tỏ quyền năng phi thường hay làm những việc vĩ đại đáng kinh sợ như công việc Môi-se đã làm trước mắt toàn dân Y-sơ-ra-ên.

34 Subió Moisés de los campos de Moab al monte Nebo, a la cumbre del Pisga, que está enfrente de Jericó, y le mostró Jehová toda la tierra de Galaad hasta Dan, ²todo Neftalí, la tierra de Efraín y de Manasés, toda la tierra de Judá hasta el mar occidental, ³el Neguev, el valle y la llanura de Jericó, ciudad de las palmeras, hasta Zoar. ⁴Y le dijo Jehová:

«Ésta es la tierra que prometí a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob, diciendo: “A tu descendencia la daré.” Te he permitido verla con tus ojos, pero no pasarás allá.»

⁵Allí murió Moisés, siervo de Jehová, en la tierra de Moab, conforme al dicho de Jehová. ⁶Y lo enterró en el valle, en la tierra de Moab, enfrente de Bet-peor, y ninguno conoce el lugar de su sepultura hasta hoy. ⁷Tenía Moisés ciento veinte años de edad cuando murió; sus ojos nunca se oscurecieron, ni perdió su vigor.

⁸Lloraron los hijos de Israel a Moisés en los campos de Moab treinta días; así se cumplieron los días de llanto y de luto por Moisés. ⁹Josué hijo de Nun estaba lleno del espíritu de sabiduría, porque Moisés había puesto sus manos sobre él, y los hijos de Israel lo obedecieron haciendo como Jehová mandó a Moisés.

¹⁰Nunca más se levantó un profeta en Israel como Moisés, a quien Jehová conoció cara a cara; ¹¹nadie como él por todas las señales y prodigios que Jehová le envió a hacer en tierra de Egipto, contra el faraón y todos sus siervos, y contra toda su tierra, ¹²y por el gran poder y los hechos grandiosos y terribles que Moisés hizo a la vista de todo Israel.
