Deuteronomy 32:17-19

¹⁷“^(A)They sacrificed to demons who were not God,
^(B)To gods whom they have not known,
^(C)New gods who came lately,
Whom your fathers did not dread.
¹⁸“You neglected ^(D)the Rock who begot you,
^(E)And forgot the God who gave you birth.

¹⁹“^(F)The Lord saw this, and spurned them
^(G)Because of the provocation of His sons and daughters.

¹⁷They sacrificed^(A) to false gods,^(B) which are not God—
    gods they had not known,^(C)
    gods that recently appeared,^(D)
    gods your ancestors did not fear.
¹⁸You deserted the Rock, who fathered you;
    you forgot^(E) the God who gave you birth.
