So Moses wrote this Law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi (A)who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 Then Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of every seven years, at the time of (B)the year of the release of debts, at the (C)Feast of Booths, 11 when all Israel comes (D)to appear before the Lord your God at (E)the place which He will choose, (F)you shall read this Law before all Israel [a]so that they hear it. 12 Assemble the people, the men, the women, the children, and the stranger who is in your [b]town, so that they may hear and (G)learn and fear the Lord your God, and be careful to [c]follow all the words of this Law. 13 And their children, who have not known, will hear and learn to fear the Lord your God, as long as you live on the land [d]which you are about to cross the Jordan to [e]possess.”

The Law to Be Read Every Seven Years

So Moses wrote this law (A)and delivered it to the priests, the sons of Levi, (B)who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. 10 And Moses commanded them, saying: “At the end of every seven years, at the appointed time in the (C)year of release, (D)at the Feast of Tabernacles, 11 when all Israel comes to (E)appear before the Lord your God in the (F)place which He chooses, (G)you shall read this law before all Israel in their hearing. 12 (H)Gather the people together, men and women and little ones, and the stranger who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn to fear the Lord your God and carefully observe all the words of this law, 13 and that their children, (I)who have not known it, (J)may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land which you cross the Jordan to possess.”
