³ then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes^[a](A) and have compassion^(B) on you and gather^(C) you again from all the nations where he scattered^(D) you.^(E)

²⁴ “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.^(A)

⁷ This is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west.^{(A) 8} I will bring them back^(B) to live^(C) in Jerusalem; they will be my people,^(D) and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God.^(E)”

¹² As a shepherd^(A) looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.^{(B) 13} I will bring them out from the nations and gather^(C) them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land.^(D) I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.^(E)

³¹ so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now^[a] receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you.
