^10 [a]if you ^[b]obey the Lord your God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which ^(A)are written in this Book of the Law, ^[c]if you turn to the Lord your God ^(B)with all your heart and soul.

¹¹ “For this commandment which I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it far away. ¹² It is not in heaven, ^[d]that you could say, ‘^(C)Who will go up to heaven for us and get it for us, and proclaim it to us, so that we may ^[e]follow it?’ ¹³ Nor is it beyond the sea, ^[f]that you could say, ‘Who will cross the sea for us and get it for us and proclaim it to us, so that we may ^[g]follow it?’ ¹⁴ On the contrary, the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may ^[h]follow it.

Choose Life

¹⁵ “See, ^(D)I have placed before you today life and ^[i]happiness, and death and ^[j]adversity, ¹⁶ in that I am commanding you today ^(E)to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, so that you ^(F)may live and become numerous, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land where you are entering to take possession of it.

Overcoming the World

5 ^(A)Everyone who believes that Jesus is the ^[a]Christ has been ^(B)born of God, and everyone who loves the ^[b]Father ^(C)loves the child born of Him. ^2 (D)By this we know that ^(E)we love the children of God, when we love God and ^[c]follow His commandments. ³ For ^(F)this is the love of God, that we ^(G)keep His commandments; and ^(H)His commandments are not burdensome. ⁴ For ^[d]whoever has been ^(I)born of God ^(J)overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
