The Blessing of Returning to God

30 “Now ^(A)it shall come to pass, when ^(B)all these things come upon you, the blessing and the ^(C)curse which I have set before you, and ^(D)you ^[a]call them to mind among all the nations where the Lord your God drives you, ² and you ^(E)return to the Lord your God and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, ^3 (F)that the Lord your God will bring you back from captivity, and have compassion on you, and ^(G)gather you again from all the nations where the Lord your God has scattered you. ^4 (H)If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under heaven, from there the Lord your God will gather you, and from there He will bring you. ⁵ Then the Lord your God will bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. He will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. ⁶ And ^(I)the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

⁴⁶ “When they sin against You ^(A)(for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive ^(B)to the land of the enemy, far or near; ^47 (C)yet when they ^[a]come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, ^(D)saying, ‘We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’; ⁴⁸ and when they ^(E)return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and ^(F)pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name: ⁴⁹ then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their ^[b]cause, ⁵⁰ and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You; and ^(G)grant them compassion before those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them ⁵¹ (for ^(H)they are Your people and Your inheritance, whom You brought out of Egypt, ^(I)out of the iron furnace), ^52 (J)that Your eyes may be open to the supplication of Your servant and the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they call to You. ⁵³ For You separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be Your inheritance, ^(K)as You spoke by Your servant Moses, when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.”

God Will Restore Israel^(A)

¹⁴ “Therefore behold, the ^(B)days are coming,” says the Lord, “that it shall no more be said, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ ¹⁵ but, ‘The Lord lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the ^(C)north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For ^(D)I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers.

¹⁶ “Behold, I will send for many ^(E)fishermen,” says the Lord, “and they shall fish them; and afterward I will send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain and every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. ¹⁷ For My ^(F)eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity hidden from My eyes. ¹⁸ And first I will repay ^(G)double for their iniquity and their sin, because ^(H)they have defiled My land; they have filled My inheritance with the carcasses of their detestable and abominable idols.”
