Prosperity After Turning to the Lord

30 When all these blessings and curses^(A) I have set before you come on you and you take them to heart wherever the Lord your God disperses you among the nations,^(B)

¹⁵ See, I set before you today life^(A) and prosperity,^(B) death^(C) and destruction.^(D)

²⁸ In furious anger and in great wrath^(A) the Lord uprooted^(B) them from their land and thrust them into another land, as it is now.”

¹⁹ This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you^(A) that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses.^(B) Now choose life, so that you and your children may live

⁶⁴ Then the Lord will scatter^(A) you among all nations,^(B) from one end of the earth to the other.^(C) There you will worship other gods—gods of wood and stone, which neither you nor your ancestors have known.^(D)

²⁹ But if from there you seek^(A) the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart^(B) and with all your soul.^{(C) 30} When you are in distress^(D) and all these things have happened to you, then in later days^(E) you will return^(F) to the Lord your God and obey him.

¹⁷ “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!

²⁸ Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die.^(A)
