⁶⁵ Among those nations you will find no repose, no resting place^(A) for the sole of your foot. There the Lord will give you an anxious mind, eyes^(B) weary with longing, and a despairing heart.^(C)

³⁶ “‘As for those of you who are left, I will make their hearts so fearful in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf^(A) will put them to flight.^(B) They will run as though fleeing from the sword, and they will fall, even though no one is pursuing them.^(C)

¹⁶ then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever^(A) that will destroy your sight and sap your strength.^(B) You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.^(C)

⁹ But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark.

²⁶ People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.^(A)

⁸ All these are the beginning of birth pains.
