Deuteronomy 24:17-22
New American Standard Bible
17 “(A)You shall not pervert the justice [a]due a stranger or [b]an orphan, nor (B)seize a widow’s garment as a [c]pledge. 18 But you are to remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.
19 “(C)When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you are not to go back to get it; it shall belong (D)to the stranger, the [d]orphan, and to the widow, in order that the Lord your God (E)may bless you in all the work of your hands. 20 (F)When you beat the olives off your olive tree, you are not to search through the branches [e]again; that shall be left (G)for the stranger, the [f]orphan, and for the widow.
21 “When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you are not to [g]go over it again; that shall be left for the stranger, the [h]orphan, and the widow. 22 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.

17 Thou shalt not wrest the justice due to the sojourner, or to the fatherless, nor take the widow’s raiment to pledge; 18 but thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and Jehovah thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
19 When thou reapest thy harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands. 20 When thou beatest thine olive-tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. 21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it after thee: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. 22 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
