19 (A)“When you reap your harvest in your field and forget a sheaf in the field, you shall not go back to get it. It shall be for the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, (B)that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

29 And the Levite, because (A)he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that (B)the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.

Love Your Neighbor as Yourself

(A)“When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. 10 And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.

13 But when you give a feast, (A)invite (B)the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid (C)at (D)the resurrection of the just.”

Is it not (A)to share your bread with the hungry
    and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,
    (B)and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
(C)Then shall your light break forth like the dawn,
    (D)and your healing shall spring up speedily;
(E)your righteousness shall go before you;
    (F)the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;
    you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’
If you take away (G)the yoke from your midst,
    (H)the pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 (I)if you pour yourself out for the hungry
    and satisfy the desire of the afflicted,
(J)then shall your light rise in the darkness
    and your gloom be as the noonday.
11 And the Lord will guide you continually
    and satisfy your desire in scorched places
    and make your bones strong;
and you shall be (K)like a watered garden,
    like a spring of water,
    whose waters do not fail.

The Cheerful Giver

The point is this: (A)whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully[a] will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, (B)not reluctantly or under compulsion, for (C)God loves a cheerful giver. And (D)God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[b] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.

O Lord, Be Gracious to Me

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

41 (A)Blessed is the one who considers the poor![a]
    (B)In the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;
the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
    he is called blessed in the land;
    you (C)do not give him up to the will of his enemies.
The Lord sustains him on his sickbed;
    in his illness you restore him to full health.[b]
