Deuteronomy 19:15-21
New American Standard Bible
15 “(A)A single witness shall not rise up against a person regarding any wrongdoing or any sin [a]that he commits; on the [b]testimony of two or three witnesses a matter shall be confirmed. 16 (B)If a malicious witness rises up against a person to testify against him of wrongdoing, 17 then both people who have the dispute shall stand (C)before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who will be in office in those days. 18 And the judges (D)shall investigate thoroughly, and if the witness is a false witness and he has testified against his brother falsely, 19 then (E)you shall do to him just as he had planned to do to his brother. So you shall eliminate the evil from among you. 20 And (F)the rest of the people will hear and be afraid, and will never again do such an evil thing among you. 21 So [c](G)you shall not show pity: (H)life for life, (I)eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot.

Revised Standard Version
Law concerning Witnesses
15 “A single witness shall not prevail against a man for any crime or for any wrong in connection with any offense that he has committed; only on the evidence of two witnesses, or of three witnesses, shall a charge be sustained. 16 If a malicious witness rises against any man to accuse him of wrongdoing, 17 then both parties to the dispute shall appear before the Lord, before the priests and the judges who are in office in those days; 18 the judges shall inquire diligently, and if the witness is a false witness and has accused his brother falsely, 19 then you shall do to him as he had meant to do to his brother; so you shall purge the evil from the midst of you. 20 And the rest shall hear, and fear, and shall never again commit any such evil among you. 21 Your eye shall not pity; it shall be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
