9 “When you enter the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to [a](A)imitate the detestable things of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone (B)who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, a (C)soothsayer, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a spell, (D)or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who consults the dead. 12 For whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and (E)because of these detestable things the Lord your God is going to drive them out before you.

9 “When you enter the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable (repulsive) practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire [as a sacrifice], one who uses divination and fortune-telling, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, 11 or one who casts a charm or spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or a necromancer [who seeks the dead]. 12 For everyone who does these things is utterly repulsive to the Lord; and because of these detestable practices the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

9 “When you come into the land that the Lord your God is giving you, (A)you shall not learn to follow the abominable practices of those nations. 10 There shall not be found among you anyone (B)who burns his son or his daughter as an offering,[a] anyone who (C)practices divination or (D)tells fortunes or interprets omens, or (E)a sorcerer 11 or a charmer or (F)a medium or a necromancer or (G)one who inquires of the dead, 12 (H)for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And (I)because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.

9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
