Deuteronomy 1:38-40
International Standard Version
38 However, Nun’s son Joshua, your assistant, will go there. Encourage him, for he will cause Israel to take possession of it. 39 Your little ones—whom you said would be taken captive—and your children who do not yet[a] know right from wrong will enter the land.[b] I will give it to them and they themselves will possess it. 40 But as for you, prepare to set out for the desert on the way to the Reed[c] Sea.’

38 (A)Joshua the son of Nun, (B)who stands before you, he shall go in there. (C)Encourage him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.
39 (D)‘Moreover your little ones and your children, who (E)you say will be victims, who today (F)have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it. 40 (G)But as for you, turn and take your journey into the wilderness by the Way of the Red Sea.’

38 Instead, your assistant, Joshua (the son of Nun), shall lead the people. Encourage him as he prepares to take over the leadership. 39 I will give the land to the children they said would die in the wilderness. 40 But as for you of the older generation, turn around now and go on back across the desert toward the Red Sea.’
