13 It is (A)the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and (B)by his name you shall swear. 14 You shall not (C)go after other gods, (D)the gods of the peoples who are around you— 15 for (E)the Lord your God in your midst (F)is a jealous God—(G)lest the anger of the Lord your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.
16 (H)“You shall not put the Lord your God to the test, (I)as you tested him at Massah. 17 You shall (J)diligently keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and his testimonies and his statutes, which he has commanded you. 18 (K)And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the Lord, that it may go well with you, and that you may go in and take possession of the good land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers 19 (L)by thrusting out all your enemies from before you, as the Lord has promised.

13 Fear the Lord(A) your God, serve him only(B) and take your oaths(C) in his name.(D) 14 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; 15 for the Lord your God(E), who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land. 16 Do not put the Lord your God to the test(F) as you did at Massah. 17 Be sure to keep(G) the commands of the Lord your God and the stipulations and decrees he has given you.(H) 18 Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight,(I) so that it may go well(J) with you and you may go in and take over the good land the Lord promised on oath to your ancestors, 19 thrusting out all your enemies(K) before you, as the Lord said.
