³⁸ About ten days later, ^(A)the Lord struck Nabal and he died.

^19 (A)Never take your own revenge, beloved, but ^[a]leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “^(B)Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.

³⁰ For we know Him who said, “^(A)Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “^(B)The Lord will judge His people.”
