(B)With abominations they provoked Him to anger.
17 (C)They sacrificed to demons, who were not God,
(D)To gods whom they have not known,
(E)New gods who came lately,
Whom your fathers did not know.
18 You forgot (F)the Rock who fathered you,
(G)And forgot the God who gave you birth.

and angered(B) him with their detestable idols.
17 They sacrificed(C) to false gods,(D) which are not God—

gods your ancestors did not fear.
18 You deserted the Rock, who fathered you;
