24 And all the nations will say, ‘(A)Why has Yahweh done thus to this land? Why this great burning anger?’ 25 Then men will say, ‘(B)Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which He cut with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt. 26 And they went and served other gods and worshiped them, gods whom they have not known and whom He had not apportioned to them.

New International Version
24 All the nations will ask: “Why has the Lord done this to this land?(A) Why this fierce, burning anger?”
25 And the answer will be: “It is because this people abandoned the covenant of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, the covenant he made with them when he brought them out of Egypt.(B) 26 They went off and worshiped other gods and bowed down to them, gods they did not know, gods he had not given them.

8 And this house will become [a](A)a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by will feel desolate and hiss and say, ‘(B)Why has Yahweh done thus to this land and to this house?’ 9 And they will say, ‘(C)Because they forsook Yahweh their God, who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and took hold of other gods and worshiped them and served them, therefore Yahweh has brought all this calamity on them.’”
