¹⁶ “^(A)Fathers shall not be put to death ^[a]for their sons, nor shall sons be put to death ^[b]for their fathers; each shall be put to death for his own sin.

⁶ But the sons of those who struck him down he did not put to death, according to what is written in the book of the Law of Moses, which Yahweh commanded, saying, “^(A)Fathers shall not be put to death for their sons, nor sons be put to death for their fathers; but ^(B)each shall be put to death for his own sin.”
