⁹ “^(A)You shall count seven weeks for yourself; you shall begin to count seven weeks from the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain. ¹⁰ Then you shall ^[a]celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with a ^[b]voluntary offering of your hand in a proportional amount, which you shall give just as the Lord your God blesses you; ¹¹ and you shall ^(B)rejoice before the Lord your God, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and ^(C)the Levite who is in your ^[c]town, and ^(D)the stranger, the ^[d]orphan, and the widow who are in your midst, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to establish His name. ^12 (E)You shall also remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and you shall be careful and ^[e]comply with these statutes.

¹³ “^(F)You shall ^[f]celebrate the Feast of ^[g]Booths for seven days when you have gathered in from your threshing floor and your wine vat; ¹⁴ and you shall ^(G)rejoice in your feast, you, your son and your daughter, and your male and female slaves, and the Levite, the stranger, the ^[h]orphan, and the widow who are in your ^[i]towns.

³⁴ Then afterward he read all the words of the Law, the blessing and the curse, according to everything that is written in ^(A)the Book of the Law. ³⁵ There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua did not read before all the assembly of Israel ^(B)with the women, the little ones, and the strangers who were ^[a]living among them.

Reconciliation with God

10 Now ^(A)while Ezra was praying and making confession, weeping and prostrating himself ^(B)before the house of God, a very large assembly, men, women, and children, gathered to him from Israel; for the people wept greatly.

¹³ All Judah was standing before the Lord, with their infants, their wives, and their children.

⁴³ and on that day they offered great sacrifices and rejoiced because ^(A)God had given them great joy, and the women and children rejoiced as well, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard from far away.
