4 You must be completely faithful to the Lord. Worship and obey only the Lord and do this with fear and trembling, 5 because he rescued you from slavery in Egypt.
If a prophet tells you to disobey the Lord your God and to stop worshiping him, then that prophet is evil and must be put to death.

4 It is the Lord your God you must follow,(A) and him you must revere.(B) Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast(C) to him. 5 That prophet or dreamer must be put to death(D) for inciting rebellion against the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. That prophet or dreamer tried to turn(E) you from the way the Lord your God commanded you to follow. You must purge the evil(F) from among you.
