^31 (A)You shall not do thus toward Yahweh your God, for every abominable act which Yahweh hates they have done for their gods; for ^(B)they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.

³ But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, ^(A)and even made his son pass through the fire, ^(B)according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh had dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.

¹⁷ Then ^(A)they made their sons and their daughters pass through the fire, and ^(B)practiced divination and omens, and ^(C)sold themselves to do what is evil in the sight of Yahweh, provoking Him to anger.

²⁰ “Moreover, you took your sons and daughters, whom you had borne to ^(A)Me, and ^(B)sacrificed them to ^[a]idols to be devoured. Were your harlotries so small a matter? ²¹ You slaughtered ^(C)My children and gave them up to ^[b]idols by ^(D)causing them to pass through the fire.

²⁰ No, but I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they ^(A)sacrifice to demons and not to God. And I do not want you to become sharers in demons.
