5 On the other side of [a] the Jordan in the land of Moab Moses began to explain this law,[b] saying:[c]

6 “Yahweh our God spoke to us at Horeb, saying,[d] ‘You have stayed long enough[e] at this mountain. 7 Turn now and move on,[f] and go into the hill of the Amorites[g] and to all of the neighboring regions[h] in the Jordan Valley[i] in the hill country and in the Negev and in the coastal area along the sea, into the land of the Canaanites[j] and into the Lebanon, as far as the great river Euphrates. 8 Look, I have set the land before you;[k] go and take possession of the land that Yahweh swore to your ancestors,[l] to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it to them and to their offspring after them.’

5 Beyond the Jordan, (A)in the land of Moab, Moses undertook to explain this law, saying, 6 “The Lord our God said to us in Horeb, (B)‘You have stayed long enough at this mountain. 7 Turn and take your journey, and go to (C)the hill country of the Amorites and to all their neighbors in (D)the Arabah, (E)in the hill country and in the lowland and in the Negeb and (F)by the seacoast, the land of the Canaanites, and Lebanon, as far as the great river, the river Euphrates. 8 See, I have set the land before you. Go in and take possession of the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, (G)to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to their offspring after them.’

5 East of the Jordan in the territory of Moab,(A) Moses began to expound this law, saying:
6 The Lord our God said to us(B) at Horeb,(C) “You have stayed long enough(D) at this mountain. 7 Break camp and advance into the hill country of the Amorites;(E) go to all the neighboring peoples in the Arabah,(F) in the mountains, in the western foothills, in the Negev(G) and along the coast, to the land of the Canaanites(H) and to Lebanon,(I) as far as the great river, the Euphrates.(J) 8 See, I have given you this land(K).(L) Go in and take possession of the land the Lord swore(M) he would give to your fathers—to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob—and to their descendants after them.”
