22 “Kon makita ninyo nga nakabuhi ang baka o karnero o kanding sa inyong isigka-Israelinhon, ayaw ninyo kini pasagdi, dad-a hinuon ninyo kini ngadto sa tag-iya. Apan kon layo ang gipuy-an sa tag-iya niini o wala kamo makaila sa tag-iya, dad-a sa inyong balay ang mananap hangtod nga moabot ang tag-iya niini. Unya ihatag kini kaniya. Mao usab kini ang inyong himuon sa asno o sa panapton o sa bisan unsang butang nga nawala sa imong isigka-Israelinhon. Ayaw ninyo kini pasagdi.

“Kon makita mo nga ang asno o ang baka sa imong isigka-Israelinhon nalup-og sa dalan, ayaw kini pasagdi. Tabangi gayod ang tag-iya sa pagpatindog niini.

“Ang babaye kinahanglan nga dili magsul-ob ug bisti sa lalaki o ang lalaki magsul-ob ug bisti sa babaye, kay mangil-ad sa Ginoo nga inyong Dios ang nagahimo niini.

“Kon may makita kamong salag sa langgam daplin sa dalan, sa kahoy o sa yuta, ug may mga pispis o mga itlog nga gilumloman sa inahan, ayaw kuhaa ang inahan uban sa mga pispis. Mahimo ninyong kuhaon ang mga pispis, apan kinahanglang buhian ninyo ang inahan, aron mamaayo ang inyong kahimtang ug magkinabuhi kamog dugay.

“Kon magpatukod kamo ug balay, kinahanglang butangan ninyo ug barandilya ang palibot sa inyong patag nga atop, aron wala kamoy tulubagon kon adunay mahulog gikan sa inyong atop ug mamatay.

“Ayaw kamo pagtanom ug lain pang matang sa binhi sa tamnanan sa ubas. Kon himuon ninyo kini, mahimong iya na sa templo ang bunga sa inyong gitanom ug apil ang bunga sa inyong ubas.

10 “Ayaw ipares ang baka ug ang asno sa pagdaro. 11 Ayaw kamo pagsul-ob ug bisti nga hinimo gikan sa duha ka klase sa panapton.

12 “Butangan ninyo ug ribeti ang upat ka kilid sa panggawas nga bisti.

Ang Kasugoan bahin sa Pagkaputli

13 “Pananglit gipangasawa sa usa ka tawo ang usa ka babaye, ug pagkahuman nila ug dulog, nasuko siya sa iyang asawa, 14 ug gibutang-butangan niya kini, ug moingon siya, ‘Nadiskobrehan ko sa akong pagdulog sa akong asawa nga dili na siya putli.’ 15 Unya ang mga ginikanan sa babaye moadto sa mga tigdumala sa lungsod didto sa may ganghaan sa lungsod. Magdala sila sa ebidensya nga putli pa ang ilang anak. 16 Unya moingon ang amahan sa babaye ngadto sa mga tigdumala, ‘Gipaasawa ko ang akong anak niining tawhana ug karon nasuko siya sa akong anak. 17 Gibutang-butangan niya ang akong anak pinaagi sa pagsulti nga dili na kini putli sa dihang gipangasawa niya. Apan ania ang ebidensya nga putli ang akong anak.’ Unya ipakita sa ginikanan ngadto sa mga tigdumala ang hapin sa higdaanan sa magtiayon nga may dugo. 18 Unya dakpon sa mga tigdumala ang lalaki ug silotan. 19 Pamultahon nila kini ug 100 ka buok nga salapi ug ihatag kini sa amahan sa babaye, kay gipakaulawan niya ang usa ka putli nga babayeng Israelinhon. Ug kinahanglang dili gayod niya bulagan ang babaye samtang buhi pa siya.

20 “Apan kon tinuod ang giingon sa bana ug walay mapakitang ebidensya nga putli ang babaye, 21 dad-on ang maong babaye atubangan sa balay sa iyang amahan ug didto batohon sa mga lalaki sa lungsod hangtod nga mamatay kini. Makauulaw nga butang ang iyang gihimo sa Israel pinaagi sa pagpakighilawas gawas sa kaminyoon samtang anaa pa siya sa poder sa iyang amahan. Kinahanglan wad-on ninyo kining daotang buhat diha kaninyo.

22 “Kon ang usa ka tawo madakpan nga nakighilawas sa babayeng minyo, silang duha sa babaye kinahanglan patyon. Kinahanglan wad-on ninyo kining daotang buhat sa Israel.

23 “Kon ang usa ka tawo nakighilawas sa usa ka babaye nga kaslonon, ug nahitabo kini sa usa ka lungsod, 24 dad-on ninyo silang duha sa ganghaan sa lungsod ug batohon hangtod mamatay. Patyon ang babaye kay bisan ug didto siya sa lungsod wala siya mosinggit aron pagpangayo ug tabang. Patyon usab ang lalaki tungod kay nakighilawas siya sa babaye nga kaslonon. Kinahanglan wad-on ninyo kining daotang buhat diha kaninyo.

25 “Apan kon gilugos sa lalaki ang babaye nga kaslonon didto sa gawas sa lungsod, ang lalaki lang ang patyon. 26 Ayaw ninyo hilabti ang babaye; wala siya nakahimog sala nga angay silotan sa kamatayon. Kini nga kaso sama sa kaso sa tawo nga misulong ug mipatay sa iyang isigka-tawo. 27 Tungod kay sa gawas sa lungsod gilugos ang babaye, bisan pa ug misinggit siya sa pagpangayo ug tabang, walay makatabang kaniya.

28 “Kon madakpan ang usa ka lalaki nga gilugos niya ang usa ka babaye nga dili kaslonon, 29 magbayad ang lalaki ug 50 ka buok nga pilak ngadto sa amahan sa babaye. Kinahanglan pakaslan niya ang babaye tungod kay gipanamastamasan niya ang pagkababaye niini, ug kinahanglan dili gayod niya kini bulagan samtang buhi pa siya.

30 “Kinahanglan ang anak dili makighilawas sa asawa sa iyang amahan, kay maulawan ang iyang amahan.

Various Laws

22 “You (A)shall not see your brother's ox or his sheep going astray and ignore them. You shall take them back to your brother. And if he does not live near you and you do not know who he is, you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall stay with you until your brother seeks it. Then you shall restore it to him. And you shall do the same with his donkey or with his garment, or with any lost thing of your brother's, which he loses and you find; you may not ignore it. (B)You shall not see your brother's donkey or his ox fallen down by the way and ignore them. You shall help him to lift them up again.

“A woman shall not wear a man's garment, nor shall a man put on a woman's cloak, (C)for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.

“If you come across a bird's nest in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs and the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, (D)you shall not take the mother with the young. You shall let the mother go, but the young you may take for yourself, (E)that it may go well with you, and that you may live long.

“When you build a new house, you shall make a parapet for your roof, that you may not bring the guilt of blood upon your house, if anyone should fall from it.

(F)“You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole yield be forfeited,[a] the crop that you have sown and the yield of the vineyard. 10 You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together. 11 You shall not wear cloth of wool and linen mixed together.

12 (G)“You shall make yourself tassels on the four corners of the garment with which you cover yourself.

Laws Concerning Sexual Immorality

13 “If any man takes a wife and (H)goes in to her and then hates her 14 and accuses her of misconduct and brings a bad name upon her, saying, ‘I took this woman, and when I came near her, I did not find in her evidence of virginity,’ 15 then the father of the young woman and her mother shall take and bring out the evidence of her virginity to the elders of the city in the gate. 16 And the father of the young woman shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man to marry, and he hates her; 17 and behold, he has accused her of misconduct, saying, “I did not find in your daughter evidence of virginity.” And yet this is the evidence of my daughter's virginity.’ And they shall spread the cloak before the elders of the city. 18 Then the elders of that city shall take the man and whip[b] him, 19 and they shall fine him a hundred shekels[c] of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought a bad name upon a virgin[d] of Israel. And she shall be his wife. (I)He may not divorce her all his days. 20 But if the thing is true, that evidence of virginity was not found in the young woman, 21 then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father's house, and (J)the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has (K)done an outrageous thing in Israel by whoring in her father's house. (L)So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

22 (M)“If a man is found lying with the wife of another man, both of them shall die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman. (N)So you shall purge the evil from Israel.

23 “If there is a (O)betrothed virgin, and a man meets her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbor's wife. (P)So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

25 “But if in the open country a man meets a young woman who is betrothed, and the man seizes her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die. 26 But you shall do nothing to the young woman; she has committed no offense punishable by death. For this case is like that of a man attacking and murdering his neighbor, 27 because he met her in the open country, and though the betrothed young woman cried for help there was no one to rescue her.

28 (Q)“If a man meets a virgin who is not betrothed, and seizes her and lies with her, and they are found, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the father of the young woman fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has violated her. He may not divorce her all his days.

30 [e] (R)“A man shall not take his father's wife, so that he does not (S)uncover his father's nakedness.[f]

22 Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.

And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.

In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.

Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.

The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.

If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:

But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.

When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.

Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.

10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.

11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

12 Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.

13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,

14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:

15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:

16 And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;

17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;

19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:

21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.

23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.

26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:

27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.

28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.

30 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.
