22 Dacă vei vedea boul sau oaia fratelui tău rătăcindu-se, să nu fii nepăsător, ci să i le aduci înapoi. 2 Dacă fratele tău nu locuieşte aproape de tine sau dacă nu-l cunoşti, să iei animalul acasă la tine şi să-l păzeşti până va veni după el. Atunci să i-l dai înapoi. 3 La fel să faci şi cu asinul, cu haina sau cu orice lucru pierdut de cel din poporul tău, pe care el l-a pierdut, iar tu l-ai găsit; să nu fii nepăsător. 4 Dacă vei vedea asinul sau boul fratelui tău căzut pe drum, să nu-l ocoleşti, ci să-l ajuţi să se ridice.
5 Femeia să nu se îmbrace cu haine bărbăteşti, iar bărbatul să nu se îmbrace cu îmbrăcăminte femeiască, fiindcă Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, detestă pe cel ce face acest lucru.
6 Dacă vei găsi un cuib de pasăre lângă drum, într-un copac sau pe câmp, cu pui sau ouă, iar mama şezând peste pui sau peste ouă, să nu iei mama împreună cu puii. 7 Ci să dai drumul mamei şi să nu iei decât puii, ca să-ţi fie bine şi să ai viaţă lungă.
8 Când vei construi o casă nouă, să faci un parapet pe acoperiş, ca să nu aduci vină de sânge peste casa ta, dacă va cădea cineva de pe ea.
9 Să nu semeni două feluri de seminţe în podgoria ta, ca nu cumva să întinezi[a] şi rodul seminţei pe care ai semănat-o, şi rodul viei.
10 Să nu ari cu un bou şi cu un asin înjugaţi împreună.
11 Să nu te îmbraci cu o haină ţesută din fire diferite, cum ar fi lâna şi inul ţesute laolaltă.
12 Să faci ciucuri la cele patru colţuri ale mantiei cu care te vei înveli.
13 Dacă un bărbat şi-a luat o soţie, iar după ce a intrat la ea[b], a început s-o urască 14 şi să-i aducă învinuiri, scoţându-i astfel un nume rău, zicând: «Am luat-o de soţie pe femeia aceasta şi când m-am apropiat de ea nu am găsit nici un semn al fecioriei ei», 15 atunci părinţii fetei să ia şi să aducă semnele fecioriei fetei la poartă, înaintea celor din sfatul bătrânilor cetăţii. 16 Tatăl fetei să spună înaintea sfatului bătrânilor: «Am dat-o pe fiica mea de soţie acestui bărbat, dar el nu o mai iubeşte. 17 Acum el o învinuieşte pe fiica mea că nu a fost fecioară, dar iată, acestea sunt semnele fecioriei ei!» Atunci părinţii fetei să desfacă haina înaintea sfatului bătrânilor cetăţii, 18 iar aceştia să-l ia pe bărbatul acela şi să-l pedepsească. 19 Să-l pună să plătească o sută de şecheli de argint[c] şi să-i dea tatălui fetei, pentru că a scos nume rău unei fecioare israelite. Ea va rămâne soţia lui, iar el nu va putea s-o izgonească toată viaţa lui. 20 Dar dacă faptul este adevărat şi fata nu a fost găsită fecioară, 21 atunci ei vor trebui s-o aducă la uşa casei tatălui ei ca să fie omorâtă cu pietre de către bărbaţii cetăţii, pentru că a săvârşit o urâciune în Israel, desfrânându-se pe când era în casa tatălui ei. Astfel să nimiciţi răul din mijlocul vostru.
22 Dacă se va găsi un bărbat culcându-se cu o femeie măritată, să fie omorâţi amândoi, atât bărbatul care s-a culcat cu femeia, cât şi femeia. Să nimiciţi astfel răul din Israel.
23 Dacă o fată fecioară este logodită, iar un bărbat o întâlneşte în cetate şi se culcă cu ea, 24 să îi aduceţi împreună la porţile cetăţii şi să-i ucideţi cu pietre pe amândoi: pe fată s-o condamnaţi pentru că nu a strigat în cetate, iar pe bărbat fiindcă a necinstit-o pe soţia semenului său. Să nimiciţi astfel răul din mijlocul vostru.
25 Dar dacă bărbatul acela va întâlni pe câmp o fată logodită şi o va forţa să se culce cu el, atunci doar bărbatul care s-a culcat cu ea să fie ucis. 26 Fetei să nu-i faceţi nimic, pentru că ea nu este vinovată de nici un păcat vrednic de moarte; căci este ca şi cum un om se năpusteşte asupra semenului său şi îi ia viaţa. 27 El a întâlnit-o pe câmp pe fata logodită şi, deşi ea a strigat, nu a fost nimeni care să o salveze.
28 Dacă un bărbat întâlneşte o fată fecioară nelogodită şi o forţează să se culce cu el şi este descoperit, 29 bărbatul care s-a culcat cu ea, să plătească tatălui fetei cincizeci de şecheli de argint[d]. Ea să rămână soţia lui, pentru că a necinstit-o, iar el nu va putea s-o izgonească toată viaţa lui.
30 Nimeni să nu o ia de soţie pe nevasta tatălui său[e] şi nici să nu descopere învelitoarea tatălui său.

22 Thou shalt not see thy brother's ox or his sheep go astray, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt in any case bring them again unto thy brother.
2 And if thy brother be not nigh unto thee, or if thou know him not, then thou shalt bring it unto thine own house, and it shall be with thee until thy brother seek after it, and thou shalt restore it to him again.
3 In like manner shalt thou do with his ass; and so shalt thou do with his raiment; and with all lost thing of thy brother's, which he hath lost, and thou hast found, shalt thou do likewise: thou mayest not hide thyself.
4 Thou shalt not see thy brother's ass or his ox fall down by the way, and hide thyself from them: thou shalt surely help him to lift them up again.
5 The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God.
6 If a bird's nest chance to be before thee in the way in any tree, or on the ground, whether they be young ones, or eggs, and the dam sitting upon the young, or upon the eggs, thou shalt not take the dam with the young:
7 But thou shalt in any wise let the dam go, and take the young to thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days.
8 When thou buildest a new house, then thou shalt make a battlement for thy roof, that thou bring not blood upon thine house, if any man fall from thence.
9 Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled.
10 Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together.
11 Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers sorts, as of woollen and linen together.
12 Thou shalt make thee fringes upon the four quarters of thy vesture, wherewith thou coverest thyself.
13 If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,
14 And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:
15 Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:
16 And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;
17 And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
18 And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;
19 And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
20 But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:
21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
22 If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
23 If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
24 Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.
25 But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.
26 But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; there is in the damsel no sin worthy of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so is this matter:
27 For he found her in the field, and the betrothed damsel cried, and there was none to save her.
28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days.
30 A man shall not take his father's wife, nor discover his father's skirt.

22 Du sollst nicht zusehen, wie das Rind oder Schaf deines Bruders irregeht, und du sollst dich ihnen nicht entziehen; sondern du sollst sie deinem Bruder unbedingt wieder zurückbringen.
2 Wenn aber dein Bruder nicht in deiner Nähe wohnt oder du ihn nicht kennst, so sollst du sie in dein Haus aufnehmen, dass sie bei dir seien, bis dein Bruder sie sucht, und dann sollst du sie ihm zurückgeben.
3 Ebenso sollst du es auch mit seinem Esel machen, und so sollst du es mit seinem Gewand machen, und so sollst du es mit allem Verlorenen machen, das dein Bruder verliert und das du findest; du kannst dich [ihm] nicht entziehen.
4 Du sollst nicht zusehen, wie der Esel deines Bruders oder sein Rind auf dem Weg fallen, und du sollst dich ihnen nicht entziehen, sondern du sollst ihnen unbedingt aufhelfen.
Gebote gegen ungöttliche Vermischung
5 Eine Frau soll keine Männersachen auf sich haben, und ein Mann soll keine Frauenkleider anziehen; denn jeder, der dies tut, ist dem Herrn, deinem Gott, ein Gräuel.
6 Wenn du zufällig auf dem Weg ein Vogelnest antriffst, auf irgendeinem Baum oder auf der Erde, mit Jungen oder mit Eiern, während die Mutter auf den Jungen oder auf den Eiern sitzt, so sollst du die Mutter nicht samt den Jungen nehmen;
7 sondern du sollst die Mutter auf jeden Fall fliegen lassen, und die Jungen kannst du dir nehmen, damit es dir gut geht und du lange lebst.
8 Wenn du ein neues Haus baust, so mache ein Geländer um dein Dach herum, damit du nicht Blutschuld auf dein Haus lädst, falls jemand von ihm herunterfällt.
9 Du sollst deinen Weinberg nicht mit zweierlei Samen besäen, damit nicht das Ganze dem Heiligtum verfällt, der Same, den du gesät hast, und der Ertrag des Weinbergs.
10 Du sollst nicht zugleich mit einem Rind und einem Esel pflügen.
11 Du sollst keine Kleidung aus verschiedenartigen Garnen anziehen, die aus Wolle und Leinen zusammengewoben ist.
12 Du sollst dir Quasten machen an die vier Zipfel deines Überwurfs, mit dem du dich bedeckst.
Sittlichkeitsgesetze. Rechtsschutz für eine verleumdete Frau
13 Wenn jemand eine Frau nimmt und zu ihr eingeht, danach aber verschmäht[a] er sie,
14 und er legt ihr Dinge zur Last, die sie ins Gerede bringen, und bringt sie in einen schlechten Ruf, indem er spricht: Ich habe diese Frau genommen; als ich ihr aber nahte, habe ich die Zeichen der Jungfräulichkeit nicht an ihr gefunden!,
15 so sollen der Vater und die Mutter der jungen Frau sie nehmen und die Zeichen der Jungfräulichkeit der jungen Frau zu den Ältesten der Stadt an das Tor hinausbringen.
16 Und der Vater der jungen Frau soll zu den Ältesten sagen: Ich habe diesem Mann meine Tochter zur Frau gegeben, aber er verschmäht sie,
17 und siehe, er legt ihr Dinge zur Last, die sie ins Gerede bringen, indem er spricht: Ich habe an deiner Tochter die Zeichen der Jungfräulichkeit nicht gefunden — aber dies sind doch die Zeichen der Jungfräulichkeit meiner Tochter! Und sie sollen das Tuch[b] vor den Ältesten der Stadt ausbreiten.
18 Dann sollen die Ältesten jener Stadt den Mann nehmen und ihn bestrafen;
19 und sie sollen ihm eine Strafe von 100 Schekel Silber auferlegen und diese dem Vater der jungen Frau geben, weil jener eine Jungfrau in Israel verleumdet hat; und er soll sie als Frau behalten, er kann sie sein Leben lang nicht verstoßen.
20 Wenn aber diese Sache wahr ist und die Zeichen der Jungfräulichkeit an der jungen Frau nicht gefunden worden sind,
21 so soll man die junge Frau vor die Tür ihres väterlichen Hauses führen, und die Leute ihrer Stadt sollen sie zu Tode steinigen, weil sie eine Schandtat in Israel begangen hat, indem sie Unzucht trieb im Haus ihres Vaters. So sollst du das Böse aus deiner Mitte ausrotten.
22 Wenn jemand ertappt wird, dass er bei einer verheirateten Frau liegt, so sollen beide zusammen sterben, der Mann, der bei der Frau gelegen hat, und die Frau. So sollst du das Böse aus Israel ausrotten.
23 Wenn ein Mädchen, eine Jungfrau, mit einem Mann verlobt ist, und ein anderer Mann trifft sie in der Stadt an und liegt bei ihr,
24 so sollt ihr sie beide zum Tor jener Stadt hinausführen und sollt sie beide steinigen, dass sie sterben: das Mädchen deshalb, weil sie in der Stadt nicht geschrien hat; den Mann deshalb, weil er die Frau seines Nächsten geschwächt hat. So sollst du das Böse aus deiner Mitte ausrotten.

26 Dem Mädchen aber sollst du nichts tun, weil das Mädchen keine Sünde getan hat, die den Tod verdient. Denn es ist gleich, wie wenn jemand sich gegen seinen Nächsten aufmacht und ihn totschlägt; so verhält es sich auch damit.
27 Denn er fand sie auf dem Feld, das verlobte Mädchen schrie; es gab aber niemand, der sie retten konnte.
28 Wenn jemand ein Mädchen, eine Jungfrau, antrifft, die noch nicht verlobt ist, und sie ergreift und bei ihr liegt und sie ertappt werden,

22 “You (A)shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep going astray, and [a]hide yourself from them; you shall certainly bring them back to your brother. 2 And if your brother is not near you, or if you do not know him, then you shall bring it to your own house, and it shall remain with you until your brother seeks it; then you shall restore it to him. 3 You shall do the same with his donkey, and so shall you do with his garment; with any lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost and you have found, you shall do likewise; you [b]must not hide yourself.
4 (B)“You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fall down along the road, and hide yourself from them; you shall surely help him lift them up again.
5 “A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are [c]an abomination to the Lord your God.

13 “If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and (I)detests her, 14 and charges her with shameful conduct, and brings a bad name on her, and says, ‘I took this woman, and when I came to her I found she was not a virgin,’ 15 then the father and mother of the young woman shall take and bring out the evidence of the young woman’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate. 16 And the young woman’s father shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man as wife, and he detests her. 17 Now he has charged her with shameful conduct, saying, “I found your daughter was not a virgin,” and yet these are the evidences of my daughter’s virginity.’ And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. 18 Then the elders of that city shall take that man and punish him; 19 and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought a bad name on a virgin of Israel. And she shall be his wife; he cannot divorce her all his days.
20 “But if the thing is true, and evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, 21 then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with (J)stones, because she has (K)done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to play the harlot in her father’s house. (L)So you shall [d]put away the evil from among you.
22 (M)“If a man is found lying with a woman married to a husband, then both of them shall die—the man that lay with the woman, and the woman; so you shall put away the evil from Israel.
23 “If a young woman who is a virgin is (N)betrothed to a husband, and a man finds her in the city and lies with her, 24 then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones, the young woman because she did not cry out in the city, and the man because he (O)humbled his neighbor’s wife; (P)so you shall put away the evil from among you.
25 “But if a man finds a betrothed young woman in the countryside, and the man forces her and lies with her, then only the man who lay with her shall die. 26 But you shall do nothing to the young woman; there is in the young woman no sin deserving of death, for just as when a man rises against his neighbor and kills him, even so is this matter. 27 For he found her in the countryside, and the betrothed young woman cried out, but there was no one to save her.
28 (Q)“If a man finds a young woman who is a virgin, who is not betrothed, and he seizes her and lies with her, and they are found out, 29 then the man who lay with her shall give to the young woman’s father (R)fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife (S)because he has humbled her; he shall not be permitted to divorce her all his days.
