¹⁸ Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity
    and passing over the transgression
    of the remnant of his possession?
He does not retain his anger forever
    because he delights in showing steadfast love.^(A)
19 He will again have compassion upon us;
    he will tread our iniquities under foot.
You will cast all our^[a] sins
    into the depths of the sea.^(B)

²¹ Do not spurn us, for your name’s sake;
    do not dishonor your glorious throne;
    remember and do not break your covenant with us.^(A)

²⁴ You have not bought me sweet cane with money
    or satisfied me with the fat of your sacrifices.
Rather, you have burdened me with your sins;
    you have wearied me with your iniquities.^(A)

¹² The Righteous One observes the house of the wicked;
    he casts the wicked down to ruin.^(A)

⁸ and that they should not be like their ancestors,
    a stubborn and rebellious generation,
a generation whose heart was not steadfast,
    whose spirit was not faithful to God.^(A)
