¹⁶ And ^(A)I looked, and behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God—had made for yourselves a molded calf! You had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord had commanded you.

¹⁹ So it was, as soon as he came near the camp, that ^(A)he saw the calf and the dancing. So Moses’ anger became hot, and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain.

^40 (A)saying to Aaron, ‘Make us gods to go before us; as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’ ^41 (B)And they made a calf in those days, offered sacrifices to the idol, and ^(C)rejoiced in the works of their own hands.
