¹² “Then the Lord said to me, ^(A)‘Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you brought out of Egypt have acted corruptly; they have ^(B)quickly turned aside from the way which I commanded them; they have made themselves a molded image.’

⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, ^(A)“Go, get down! For your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt ^(B)have corrupted themselves. ⁸ They have turned aside quickly out of the way which ^(C)I commanded them. They have made themselves a molded calf, and worshiped it and sacrificed to it, and said, ^(D)‘This is your god, O Israel, that brought you out of the land of Egypt!’ ”

¹⁷ Yet they would not listen to their judges, but they ^(A)played the harlot with other gods, and bowed down to them. They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do so.

²⁹ For I know that after my death you will ^(A)become utterly corrupt, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you. And ^(B)evil will befall you ^(C)in the latter days, because you will do evil in the sight of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands.”

^10 (A)But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves.

⁶ I marvel that you are turning away so soon ^(A)from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel,

Impenitence of Israel and Judah

¹⁶ And ^(A)I looked, and behold, you had sinned against the Lord your God—had made for yourselves a molded calf! You had turned aside quickly from the way which the Lord had commanded you.
