⁷ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, ^(A)a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out in the valleys and hills, ⁸ a land of wheat and barley, ^(B)of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive trees and honey, ⁹ a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. ¹⁰ And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.

¹¹ “Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, ^12 (C)lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, ¹³ and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, ^14 (D)then your heart be lifted up, and you ^(E)forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery, ¹⁵ who ^(F)led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, ^(G)with its fiery serpents and scorpions ^(H)and thirsty ground where there was no water, ^(I)who brought you water out of the flinty rock, ¹⁶ who fed you in the wilderness with ^(J)manna that your fathers did not know, that he might humble you and test you, ^(K)to do you good in the end. ¹⁷ Beware ^(L)lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ ¹⁸ You shall remember the Lord your God, for ^(M)it is he who gives you power to get wealth, ^(N)that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

The Cheerful Giver

⁶ The point is this: ^(A)whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully^[a] will also reap bountifully. ⁷ Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, ^(B)not reluctantly or under compulsion, for ^(C)God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And ^(D)God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency^[b] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. ⁹ As it is written,

¹⁰ He who supplies ^(F)seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and ^(G)increase the harvest of your righteousness. ^11 (H)You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which ^(I)through us will produce thanksgiving to God. ¹² For the ministry of this service is not only supplying ^(J)the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God. ¹³ By their approval of this service, ^(K)they^[c] will glorify God because of your submission that comes from your ^(L)confession of the gospel of Christ, and the generosity of your contribution for them and for all others, ¹⁴ while they long for you and pray for you, because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. ^15 (M)Thanks be to God for his inexpressible gift!

Jesus Cleanses Ten Lepers

^11 (A)On the way to Jerusalem ^(B)he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. ¹² And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers,^{[a] (C)}who stood at a distance ¹³ and lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.” ¹⁴ When he saw them he said to them, “Go and ^(D)show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they were cleansed. ¹⁵ Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, ^(E)praising God with a loud voice; ¹⁶ and ^(F)he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was ^(G)a Samaritan. ¹⁷ Then Jesus answered, “Were not ^(H)ten cleansed? Where are the nine? ¹⁸ Was no one found to return and ^(I)give praise to God except this ^(J)foreigner?” ¹⁹ And he said to him, “Rise and go your way; ^(K)your faith has ^(L)made you well.”^[b]
