⁷ For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land^(A)—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills;^(B)

⁶ On that day I swore^(A) to them that I would bring them out of Egypt into a land I had searched out for them, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(B) the most beautiful of all lands.^(C)

⁹ and so that you may live long^(A) in the land the Lord swore^(B) to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.^{(C) 10} The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt,^(D) from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden. ¹¹ But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys^(E) that drinks rain from heaven.^{(F) 12} It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes^(G) of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.

¹⁰ When the Lord your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build,^{(A) 11} houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig,^(B) and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied,^(C)

⁸ So I have come down^(A) to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land,^(B) a land flowing with milk and honey^(C)—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites^(D) and Jebusites.^(E)
