^14 (A)when your heart ^[a]is lifted up, and you ^(B)forget the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;

¹¹ “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today,

⁷ For who ^[a]makes you differ from another? And ^(A)what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

⁸ You are already full! ^(B)You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us—and indeed I could wish you did reign, that we also might reign with you!

²⁵ But Hezekiah ^(A)did not repay according to the favor shown him, for ^(B)his heart was lifted up; ^(C)therefore wrath was looming over him and over Judah and Jerusalem.

The Penalty for Uzziah’s Pride^(A)

¹⁶ But ^(B)when he was strong his heart was ^(C)lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God ^(D)by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.

²⁰ that his heart may not ^[a]be lifted above his brethren, that he ^(A)may not turn aside from the commandment to the right hand or to the left, and that he may ^[b]prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children in the midst of Israel.
