Transition to the Second Address

⁴⁴ This is the law that Moses set before the Israelites.

¹⁷ The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.^(A)

⁴ Remember the teaching of my servant Moses, the statutes and ordinances that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.^(A)

²⁶ “ ‘Cursed be anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by observing them.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen!’^(A)

⁸ You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very clearly.”

³ You shall write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over, to enter the land that the Lord your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, promised you.^(A)

¹⁸ When he has taken the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself a copy of this law on a scroll in the presence of the Levitical priests.^{(A) 19} It shall remain with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, diligently observing all the words of this law and these statutes,^(B)

⁵ Beyond the Jordan in the land of Moab, Moses undertook to expound this law as follows:

³⁴ These are the commandments that the Lord gave to Moses for the Israelites on Mount Sinai.^(A)
