²³ Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the Lord your God which He made with you, ^(A)and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which the Lord your God has forbidden you.

⁹ Only take heed to yourself, and diligently ^(A)keep yourself, lest you ^(B)forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And ^(C)teach them to your children and your grandchildren,

¹² Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God;

⁴ And Jesus answered and said to them: ^(A)“Take heed that no one deceives you.

⁵⁹ For thus says the Lord God: “I will deal with you as you have done, who ^(A)despised ^(B)the oath by breaking the covenant.

^16 [a]When you have transgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which He commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed down to them, then the ^(A)anger of the Lord will burn against you, and you shall perish quickly from the good land which He has given you.”

²⁰ When I have brought them to the land flowing with milk and honey, of which I swore to their fathers, and they have eaten and filled themselves ^(A)and grown fat, ^(B)then they will turn to other gods and serve them; and they will provoke Me and break My covenant.

²⁵ Then people would say: ‘Because they have forsaken the covenant of the Lord God of their fathers, which He made with them when He brought them out of the land of Egypt;
