²² But ^(A)I must die in this land, ^(B)I must not cross over the Jordan; but you shall cross over and ^[a]possess ^(C)that good land.

²⁵ I pray, let me cross over and see ^(A)the good land beyond the Jordan, those pleasant mountains, and Lebanon.’

^27 (A)Go up to the top of Pisgah, and lift your eyes toward the west, the north, the south, and the east; behold it with your eyes, for you shall not cross over this Jordan.

¹³ Yes, I think it is right, ^(A)as long as I am in this ^[a]tent, ^(B)to stir you up by reminding you, ^14 (C)knowing that shortly I must ^[b]put off my tent, just as ^(D)our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. ¹⁵ Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my ^[c]decease.

^7 (B)If^[a] you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what ^(C)son is there whom a father does not chasten? ⁸ But if you are without chastening, ^(D)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to ^(E)the Father of spirits and live? ¹⁰ For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, ^(F)that we may be partakers of His holiness.

²¹ and he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Thus says the Lord: ‘Because you have disobeyed the word of the Lord, and have not kept the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you, ²² but you came back, ate bread, and drank water in the ^(A)place of which the Lord said to you, “Eat no bread and drink no water,” your corpse shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.’ ”
