^5 (A)So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the Lord.

⁵⁰ and die on the mountain which you ascend, and be ^[a]gathered to your people, just as ^(A)Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people;

God’s Commission to Joshua

1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ ^(A)assistant, saying: ^2 (B)“Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel.

³ For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as ^(A)He who built the house has more honor than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by someone, but ^(B)He who built all things is God. ^5 (C)And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as ^(D)a servant, ^(E)for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, ⁶ but Christ as ^(F)a Son over His own house, ^(G)whose house we are ^(H)if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope ^[a]firm to the end.

³ They sing ^(A)the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the ^(B)Lamb, saying:

1 Simon Peter, a bondservant and ^(A)apostle of Jesus Christ,

To those who have ^[a]obtained ^(B)like^[b] precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

^25 (A)in humility correcting those who are in opposition, ^(B)if God perhaps will grant them repentance, ^(C)so that they may know the truth,

³⁵ And ^(A)a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. ^36 (B)Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
