²² And of Dan he said:

Danites Settle in Laish

²⁷ So they took the things Micah had made, and the priest who had belonged to him, and went to Laish, to a people quiet and secure; ^(A)and they struck them with the edge of the sword and burned the city with fire.

⁴⁷ And the ^(A)border of the children of Dan went beyond these, because the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem and took it; and they struck it with the edge of the sword, took possession of it, and dwelt in it. They called Leshem, ^(B)Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

³⁵ of the Danites who could keep battle formation, twenty-eight thousand six hundred;

³⁰ Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

¹⁵ He found a fresh jawbone of a donkey, reached out his hand and took it, and ^(A)killed a thousand men with it.

⁸ So he attacked them hip and thigh with a great slaughter; then he went down and dwelt in the cleft of the rock of ^(A)Etam.

¹⁹ Then ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord came upon him mightily, and he went down to Ashkelon and killed thirty of their men, took their apparel, and gave the changes of clothing to those who had explained the riddle. So his anger was aroused, and he went back up to his father’s house.

⁶ And ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart as one would have torn apart a young goat, though he had nothing in his hand. But he did not tell his father or his mother what he had done.

²⁴ So the woman bore a son and called his name ^(A)Samson; and ^(B)the child grew, and the Lord blessed him. ^25 (C)And the Spirit of the Lord began to move upon him at ^[a]Mahaneh Dan ^(D)between Zorah and ^(E)Eshtaol.
