¹² So the Lord alone led him,
And there was no foreign god with him.

⁵² But He ^(A)made His own people go forth like sheep,
And guided them in the wilderness like a flock;
⁵³ And He ^(B)led them on safely, so that they did not fear;
But the sea ^(C)overwhelmed their enemies.

⁴ Even to your old age, ^(A)I am He,
And even to gray hairs ^(B)I will carry you!
I have made, and I will bear;
Even I will carry, and will deliver you.

⁷ And ^(A)who can proclaim as I do?
Then let him declare it and set it in order for Me,
Since I appointed the ancient people.
And the things that are coming and shall come,
Let them show these to them.
⁸ Do not fear, nor be afraid;
^(B)Have I not told you from that time, and declared it?
^(C)You are My witnesses.
Is there a God besides Me?
Indeed ^(D)there is no other Rock;
I know not one.’ ”

^9 (A)In all their affliction He was ^[a]afflicted,
^(B)And the Angel of His Presence saved them;
^(C)In His love and in His pity He redeemed them;
And ^(D)He bore them and carried them
All the days of old.
¹⁰ But they ^(E)rebelled and ^(F)grieved His Holy Spirit;
^(G)So He turned Himself against them as an enemy,
And He fought against them.

¹¹ I, even I, ^(A)am the Lord,
And besides Me there is no savior.
¹² I have declared and saved,
I have proclaimed,
And there was no ^(B)foreign god among you;
^(C)Therefore you are My witnesses,”
Says the Lord, “that I am God.

^16 (A)To Him who led His people through the wilderness,
For His mercy endures forever;

^14 (A)In the daytime also He led them with the cloud,
And all the night with a light of fire.
